Restaurant «Alus arsenāls» («Beer Arsenal») is located in the Old Riga, near the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Latvia, on the quiet Arsenāla Street.

Building, in which the restaurant is situated, has been built already in 1750. In these days of old there was a hotel "Petersburg" — the very first hotel in Riga. Initially the building had two stores; afterwards it was rebuilt several times. The building obtained the present shape in 1874, when two more stores and the attic were built. Currently the building holds public institutions, agencies of different companies, and our restaurant as well.

A restaurant «Alus arsenāls» was opened in 1997. A family couple, which had undergone Riga, became founders of the restaurant. Soon «Alus arsenāls» became the favorite of inhabitants of Riga and guests of the city, as brands of beer produced by the local brewers, as well as bottled beer of well-known European brands could be enjoyed there. Democratic, informal atmosphere, excellent cuisine, attentive and fast service, reasonable prices - it's the restaurant «Alus arsenāls».

Following reconstruction in 2003 interior of the restaurant was significantly changed. Latvian designers worked hard to create a new style of the beer restaurant: oak tables with inbound legs, hand-made oak chairs, original hand-made lamps, mural paintings and stained glass - appearance of the premises allow to relax from day-to-day rush, to meet friends and dear ones.

Renewed menu of the restaurant includes dishes having beer as an integral part of their recipes.

A pleasant surprise will be the opportunity to try a number of original and traditional cocktails with beer.

During summer season a large terrace is opened with an outlook on the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Latvia.
